Smartlipo MPX
Smartlipo MPX generates two lasers that liquefy fat and tighten skin without the mechanical trauma associated with traditional liposuction.
The procedure is performed within an office based setting, under local anesthesia utilizing tumescent fluid which contains lidocaine. A unique effect of the lidocaine is that it decreases the chance of infection through a type of bacteriastatic effect. Thus, rarely do infections occur after tumescent liposuction. Another ingredient is epinephrine. This constricts blood vessels within the fatty areas resulting in minimal blood loss. It also decreases the absorption of the lidocaine into the bloodstream, resulting in longer lasting anesthetic effects.
Procedure description
Smartlipo is performed introducing a hollow metal tube called a cannula(1mm-2mm) containing a laser fiber through a small skin incision. The fat cells are liquefied and the vessels are coagulated. The liquefied fat is suctioned out using another cannula of similar diameter.
Recuperation and Healing
You will generally be able to return home within 2 hours of the procedure with a compression garment covering the treated areas. Compression is advised for about 3 to 4 weeks as it helps to reduce swelling and achieve the final result more quickly. Patients may return to work within 1 to 2 days.
